Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or using UrbanEater (“UrbanEater”, “we”, “us”), you agree to these Terms on behalf of the business you represent and confirm you are authorized to do so. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The UrbanEater service

UrbanEater is a white-label, multi-tenant platform that lets restaurants publish an online menu, accept pickup orders, manage those orders, and collect online payments. Available features depend on your subscription plan, which we may update from time to time.

3. Accounts & eligibility

You must provide accurate business information, keep your login credentials secure, and are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be of legal age and operate a legitimate food business in a jurisdiction we serve.

4. Subscription fees & payment processing

Paid plans bill on a recurring basis according to the plan you select, and a per-order application fee may apply. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Online payments from your customers are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own terms; UrbanEater is not a payment processor or money-services business. You are responsible for your own pricing, taxes, refunds, and for any chargebacks or disputes arising from your orders.

5. Your content & your customers' data

You own your menu content and are responsible for its accuracy (prices, descriptions, allergens, availability). You are the data controller for your customers' personal data; we process it on your behalf as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for any marketing messages you send through the platform.

6. Acceptable use & intellectual property

You agree not to misuse the platform — no unlawful goods or services, fraud, scraping, reverse engineering, or interfering with the service's operation. UrbanEater, its software, trademarks, and design remain our property; while your subscription is active we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to use the service. Your content stays yours; you grant us the licence needed to host and display it in order to operate the service for you.

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UrbanEater is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profits, or for amounts exceeding the fees you paid to us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not responsible for third-party services (such as Stripe) or for disputes between you and your customers.

8. Termination, governing law & contact

You may cancel per your plan's terms, and we may suspend or terminate access for breach or non-payment. On termination your access ends and data is handled per the Privacy Policy. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. We may update these Terms; for material changes we will provide notice, and continued use after changes take effect means you accept them. Questions? Email legal@urbaneater.io.
